Background and Specialist Areas

I’m Sadie, founder of Umé Acupuncture, a female health acupuncturist based in West Sussex with practices in Central Worthing. I’m passionate about looking after women through the various stages of reproductive health. My commitment and 100% focus to this area of health allows me to offer you a more bespoke service.

I have worked in female health since 2005, as a qualified fertility reflexologist, pregnancy massage therapist and then as a degree-qualified acupuncturist. Having undertaken fertility research during my BSc, I became interested in the importance of preconceptual care for the outcome of fertility treatment and the effectiveness of acupuncture in this area. Since then, I have undertaken advanced further studies in treating women’s reproductive health; gynaecology, fertility and pregnancy.

For me, acupuncture is a 2-way process – when we work together it is much more than needles and Qi. It’s about elevating your body awareness; sharing information, finding health strategies that fit around your life and providing a place to talk and be listened to.

A Little Bit About Me

I love to look after women through all of life’s stages and support them through the ebbs and flows of their reproductive health. I’m a knowledge sponge! I like to keep up to date with cutting edge research and maintain an in-depth understanding of both a traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine approach for trying to conceive naturally or with IVF. I’m currently studying towards the advanced level fertility acupuncture diploma with leading experts in this field.

After spending 30 years of my life in good ol’ London, I’ve settled on the South Coast with my two boys, husband and dog. I’m loving life right by the sea and the limitless horizon I now call home. I can’t paddle board just yet but it’s definitely on my ‘to do’ list!

I love anything green, especially herbs and their medicinal uses, house plants (though I’m not very green fingered!) and camping in the forest (but not the bugs!) I’m making it my mission to try every restaurant and café going, I love eating out – living with an all boy family has turned me into a burger connoisseur. Vegan, veggie, meat – I love them all!
